Sound OK to me, Paul. A week doesn't make much difference.

No big deal PTN. I'm not in a rush with this batch.

Finally kegged this Friday night and drew some off when I got home last night. I think I'm going to like this one!

OK, this Saturday is probably out. I'll drop some off for you next time I'm there.

No idea but the cider I made was pretty good. Next time I'd steep a lower Lovibond Crystal malt or just skip it entirely and use more DME. And an ale yeast instead of Montrachet.

How does this look to you guys?

4 gallons apple juice
1# XLight DME
1/2 # crystal 40
1/2 # pale malt
1/4 oz Fuggles

Partial mash the grains in one gallon water then boil with the hops and the DME for 1/2 hour. Add to the juice and ferment with 05 or Notty.

I haven't had the Graf yet but from what I've read (Brandon O's thread) the hops need a restrained hand.

Thoughts?

I'd be tempted to go with 1/2 oz. of the Fuggles and maybe skip the partial mash; just steep the crystal. Minor points though.

For what it's worth, YKW didn't like my version of Graff. I guess MacKenzie didn't look better after 2 glasses...

I'm still kickin' but haven't been brewing a lot lately. I've been pretty busy - you gotta work multiple jobs when they're part time and pay crap. It seems like I'm always working or dead tired when it comes around to SSBC meetings too! Anyways, hopefully it'll change soon and I can go back to brewing every other weekend.
